Watten Mains Farmhouse is an attractive B Listed House constructed in 1763 and extended there after. Being a working farm the house can be a hub of activity but the ambiance is resting for our guests, and we will do all we can to give you a lovely break.
Prior to our ownership the house was owned by Sir Ralph Anstruther who was the treasurer to the Queen Mother, who also visited our home on several occasions during her time in Caithness.
Breakfast
A full farm house breakfast is cooked on the aga using locally sourced produce where possible. Special dietary needs can be catered for given advance notice.
Served in the dinning room, breakfast is available from 7.30am - 9.30am although earlier breakfasts can be arranged if required.
Packed lunches or evening meals are available on request.
For not so sunny days and in between outings there is a comfortable sitting room for guests, with TV and DVD.
On sunnier days there is a walled garden area for guests to sit and enjoy the outdoors and relax.
Private parking and Tea/coffee making facilities available.
Because of the quirky layout of the house guests with poor mobility might find the house challenging - where possible the stairs and steps are fitted with hand rails.
